Stopped in for a quick dinner here on my way to work. Generic but good tasting food. The prices were fair. No dinners over $13'sh. Free chips and salsa. It's not great but it your in the mood for some south of the border fair, it would do the trick.

We hadn't been here in about four years. I'm not sure why. Their food isn't great Mexican, but it is certainly good and also a value. We ordered the Friday special which was one enchilada (beef, chicken or cheese) and one taco (beef or chicken). The special came with either an order of rice or beans. The price was a very reasonable $5.50. They also bring a generous bowl of chips with a bottle of salsa as soon as you sit down. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. I had a glass of chardonnay which was really quite adequate, and, a very generous pour for $5. The ambience is Mexican schmaltzy, if there is such a thing. But it is clean and they have lots of comfortable booths. It isn't our go to place for Mexican, but we will certainly be back much sooner that 4 years from now. Sidenote: It's also very convenient to the Kohl's in Cottage Grove.

Lunch time. Greeted promptly. Server was very nice. Food out right away. I had the carne asada (my favorite) and it was fair. Chips and salsa were okay as well. More rice and beans and veggies than meat. The flank steak from a really cheap source and over salted to make up for flavor. I spent $19 with a soda and tip so not bad. I was in a out in 1/2 hour. Perfect for the business lunch. Environment was a little too loud for my taste, but over all it was an "okay" experience. It's the only local place near my account so I tried it. I would eat here again if I was craving Mexican but I'll most likely hit the Ruby Tuesday's around the corner next time.

We first got their the host was nice sat us very fast, keep in mind there was 14 of us. The host brought out chips and salsa right after seating us. The restaurant was almost empty maybe 10 ppl total. It was about 3:20 I only saw 3 workers. One sever one bartender and the host. The workers kept looking at us but no one came to take our drink order. . After ten mins after being seated and not being helped I asked the host if we had a sever he said "yes he's coming right up" we waited for "him" and nothing. Severs where just walking past us not even acknowledging us it was now 3:45 we decided to leave. I asked to speak to a Manger the sever told me that he left on break and that the 3 were the only workers their . .. she apologized several times and started to tear up. She seemed overwhelmed, she continued to tell me that her shift was over at 4 and was probably not going to leave. I myself work at a Mexican restaurant and never has our Manger left on break... or even had us under staffed. . Never again well I come back, keep in mind this was my first time their . ......

Just no. We were looking for dinner in CG before an event and thought Mexican sounded really good. We hadn't had it in a while so off we went. Pros: Fast seating, fast service (barely 10 min between ordering & food), friendly server Cons: Guacamole didn't taste like anything, food was very bland, $10 just for 4 beverages (pop and milk, not alcohol) I honestly felt like my enchilada was covered in tomato soup for all the flavor it had. Beans were a lumpy mess. I was very disappointed in Las Margaritas and we will not be going back.

Consistent Americanized Mexican food. Nothing spectacular but friendly servers, an awesome bartender & it cures the taco cravings!

Gotta rate this lower than before. Just gets filthier and filthier. If you go here don't look up! Dust and debris since this was originally opened remains. Just imagining a clump of the crap I see falling into my cheese sauce. It is enough to keep me away for another year. Can't imagine the filth they don't let customers see.

I don't understand the appeal of this place. Chips & salsa are OK. The parking lot isn't the best, the food is bland, I wouldn't go here or recommend it...even though lots of people in this area seem to like it.

Yum ! I've been here twice and it was great both times. Starting with the chips and salsa to the Quesadillas I ordered....delicious. Great atmosphere and great service. Next time I'm in MN, I'll be back.

The first time I came here I thought I had more time to get to work. I ordered the Enchiladas Supremas, and I asked the server if they could make it quickly and put it in a to go box. He happily helped me out. Food was ready in about three minutes and was very delicious.

I usually never post reviews on yelp, but after my group's experience here I was compelled to do so. Food was average but the service was horrible. My group of 7 people came in during lunch. All was well through the service but the waitress asked if we wanted individual tickets. While I know this is annoying to the staff we did need them separate... but this is when she "got back" at us. This is the only explanation I can think of, since I've never seen or heard what happened thereafter. After asking for our check from our waitress, it took us 30 minutes of waiting around. About 10 staff in the restaurant, with maybe 8 tables seated... Still no ticket. Finally we went to the front and just asked to pay. Ok, making progress. Then individually the waitress painstakingly keyed in each of our orders... Each person received a different problem. First person paid in cash... she wanted exact change. I've never heard of that one. Second person, they all of a sudden "didn't accept credit cards?"... for 5 minutes and then they did. Third person, entered in everything into the computer but had to manually look up the prices from the menu to key it into the computer. I was fourth... I give her my card, she swipes it, and the total on the receipt that I sign does not match up to the receipt she gave me for my items. When asked why they are different she shows me that she didn't charge me, takes my cards and swipes it a second time. I figured I got off easy and she just messed up... but she indeed charged me for mine and some other random amount. Time to call the credit card company. All told, nearly a 50 minute ordeal just to pay our bill. Either this was an employee who never operated a computer, or was giving us the treatment. Like I said, food was fine, just don't get individual tickets.

Every time my wife suggests Las Margaritas, I find myself in a quandry. Do I sleep on the couch or sit on the toilet? I long for a real mexican restaurant in Woodbury, but in keeping with the standard, every single one that comes down the pike will either be a carbon copy of another or will be a corporate owned establishment. Las Margaritas falls under the former category as it is, like many have pointed out, canned food which is stuck under a salamander to reheat. I can do that at home. Again, I must point out that people in Woodbury like this garbage and completely deserve a restaurant like this.

Everything about this place is middle of the road. I have been three times and all three visits were pretty much average. Prices are reasonable for portion size.

While certainly not a 5 star restaurant, the food is a above average for your suburban Mexican eatery, the atmosphere and action are quite appealing. With it's variety of mariachi music, lively atmosphere and wide assortment of items on the menu, it's a great place to stop in for a Corona or have a tasty bite to eat. While I'm sure most of the food is short order and heated up on the spot, it's very good, even though not authentic in all aspects. The service is pretty good, and the salsa is great! When they first opened, the chips were far better, but I'm guessing they've gone from in-house frying to delivered chips, oh well. If you're in the mood for some decent midwexican food, stop on in!

I've been here a couple times, because it's in Cottage Grove. Not a total dis, I grew up in Cottage Grove, but they've never been blessed with much in the way of decent restaurants. Yes, some of us do still miss DeMori's. So, the review. I don't consider myself the expert on Mexican food, but I can say I've lived in California and do know what the really good stuff tastes like. Actually I never cared for Mexican food UNTIL I moved to the left coast. The guacamole...borderline tasteless and I agree with Matt K, a mouse like consistency. I know I was warned, but ordered it anyway! The Chicken Adobado is what I order, a pretty safe choice. The margarita had the right amount of tequila kick to it, the salsa served with the chips has a bit of heat, not much taste otherwise. I'd have given this place another half star, because we did have good service. Our server was friendly and attentive, patient with a group of women who couldn't always make a snap decision on food or drink.

This review is a long time coming. I really believe that a great majority of the Mexican restaurants in MN get their food from the same service provider and simply re-heat the sauces and ingredients. Why? Because they all taste the same, Masa, of course, excluded, but that's fine dining Mexican cuisine! You haven't experienced good Mexican food until you visit Mexican restaurants in California, and it troubles me to say that. I've heard that Boca Chica in St. Paul is great but I can't bring myself to try them again because on 2 separate occasions they must have been out of the essential ingredients, salt and pepper, i.e., hello blandness!!! So, if you live in Eagan, don't bother going here, go to El Loro, it tastes the same. If you live near an El Toro, don't bother going here, go there, again, tastes the same. And if there's any chance you don't adhere to my review, go ahead and order the Guacamole at Las Margaritas. Totally embarrassing. Totally disgusting. It was like Guacamole Mousse. I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas with roasted pork and chicke on top with some red sauce. It was OK. It was not disgusting, but it was, in a word, typical. My wife ordered a tomatillo and enchilada, with rice and beans, and again, in a word, typical. Again, back to the purchasing their food from the same food service provider comment. They charge for extra Chips and Salsa beyond the first complimentary basket of chips and salsa. $1 for more chips, $3 for more mediocre salsa. Don't make me mention the disgusting guacamole again. We went on a Friday night, about 7PM, and they were busy but the mgmt of the restaurant really had no clue what was going on and were clearly overwhelmed. They established no procedure for people walking in, creating a line, or creating a waiting list, totally unorganized. Avoid. Or catch a jet to California... I'm actually going to edit this review because one of the employees emailed me some vulgar comments... 1 star now. I can't help it your food sucks.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food and service are always good, and the price is reasonable. I'm not sure what kind of food that other reviewers are looking for, but I think it is pretty good. I am certainly not an expert on Mexican food, but this is tasty food no matter what you call it.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
